Equipment

I am sure that as a Divemaster you know already what sort of equipment you need, but when you are packing to come here, you may forget something. Because of that I did prepare a checklist for you:

Required Equipment:

  • Required Equipment for IDC PattayaFins, mask and snorkel
  • Buoyancy control device (BCD) with tank mount or separate backpack, and low pressure inflator. I suggest you to use standard BCD, same as your students will use
  • Primary regulator and alternate air source
  • Breathing gas monitoring device (e.g. submersible pressure gauge). With simple words: SPG or air-gauge
  • Depth monitoring device. Can be your computer
  • Quick release weight system. Weight belt recommended for skill practice
  • Adequate exposure protection appropriate for local dive conditions. On IDC in Thailand the water temperature is never less than 26°C and in most of the time around 30°C. The pool in winter time (November-February) may be colder!
  • Dive computer or RDP. I suggest the usage of a computer
  • Time monitoring device. Could be your computer with stopwatch function, but a simple waterproof watch is more practical
  • Compass
  • Knife/diver’s tool
  • Two surface signaling devices – one audible (whistle, air horn, etc.) and one visible (inflatable surface tube, flare, signal mirror, etc.)
  • Instructions for use for dive computer or RDP/ eRDPML

Recommended Equipment:Recommended Equipment for IDC Pattaya

  • Lifting bag – You will use it for AID (Adventure In Diving) presentations. The ones with dump valve and approximately 10-15 kg / 22-33 lbs lift are sufficient
  • Ropes – Two pieces of different diameter and not longer than 1 meter / 40 inch for AID presentations
  • Clip – Reasonable size brass clip recommended for AID presentation
  • Set of O-rings
  • Reel
  • Measuring tape – 30 meters / 98 feet long. You can use your reel if long enough for AID presentation
  • Pocket mask – for your Rescue demonstration (Required on IE)

If you don’t have any of the required or recommended equipment, no problem I can arrange it for you. In the dive shop we have a very wide assortment of those products. Just contact me, or have a look for some items in the eShop.
